Group Psychotherapy Training

In June, 2015 with the help of the IAGP a 3-days training on “Leading Psychotherapy Groups on the methodology of Group Psychotherapy and Group Process” was conducted by Jeffrey Kleinberg (AGPA Ex-President) for psychologists and psychotherapists from the GGPA at the Ilia State University.

 

Project “Nergi”

Since 2009, the members of the GGPA, together with other 16 psychologists and psychotherapists have been working with a team from Switzerland – Prof. Allan Guggenbühl, Lela Schmid-Ksovrelashvili, David Schmid and their colleagues in the frames of the project “Nergi” (eng. sapling) with the group psychotherapy method Mythodrama. 7-Step Mythodramatic Intervention Program was implemented in schools, orphans houses, with Internally Displaced People, ethnical minorities etc. in Tbilisi, Georgia. In total 48 cycles of Mythodrama were conducted.

In 2015 one more member of GGPA was involved in Mythodrama project in Georgia. Throughout 2015-2016 seven groups/cycles of  Mythodrama were implemented for Interanly Displaced children and adolescents in different institutions. There is planned to continue conducting Mythodrama for Iinternaly Dsisplaced children/adolescents from September, 2016.
